LINES N' LYRIX
This is a game that riffs off of song lines. They are lines you want to remember because they are keepers, iconic, brilliantly written, and memorably interpreted. Where genius lurks.
Yet, who hasn’t mangled the lines?
Playing LINES N' LYRIX is more dynamic, fun and crowd-engaging than any weekly trivia game. It’s ideal for team-building and for a break from the traditional and tired.
Here’s how the game is played.
Each table is a team, numbered to make tabulation quick and easy. A small pad of paper is on each table. Each pad will have a template of the game scoring.
On the screen, everyone will see the song lyrics at the same time, at which point, gamers are to answer:
1. What’s the name of the song?
2. Who's known for singing the song?
3. Who wrote the song? (often the same)
Each team consults and tries to get all three.
Periodically the question will offer a DOUBLE FEATURE, for which the artists for two song interpretations are worth one point each for a possible total of four points.
For each line, there is a one-minute time limit for the teams to commit their answers to paper, at which point the papers are turned in for tabulation.
One point for the correct What, one for each of the correct Whos and yet another for the other artist in the DOUBLE FEATURE. Songs are often covered by many artists. Only our choice counts for accumulating the extra point.
Shake the competitiveness out of your system. Don’t despair if your team doesn’t get answers right.
Everyone gets treated to a video version of the song, cued to the lines you guessed. No need to hurry back to the game right away. Once you see and hear the video with lyrics included, the memory synapses will connect.
The bonus fun is in singing along.
That’s the hootenanny interlude. Feel free to discuss, joke, recollect, imitate, embellish, one up each other, dance with gusto, and of course sing along. Each interlude will run until the gusto peters out organically.
There are 25 Lines or more in each of 34 editions. Each night we will feature one genre and one decade for a possible range of 50 Qs & As.
Each night is different and will be promoted for the genre and decade. The hosting bar decides which to feature and promote.
The pad on each table includes a page dedicated to crowd-sourcing suggestions of songs for the future. Anyone who suggests a song or song lyric that we incorporate into future games will be credited on the Question screen for the Line.
Ready? OK then, take a stroll with us down Memory Lines n’ Lyrix
